From the lake to the pot!

Unread postby Schultzy » Fri Feb 10, 2012 5:39 am

2 days ago I finally did some fishing around home with all the bad Ice we've had this year. A few crappies and sunny's along with some perch and a walleye and a northern. Ice sucks around my area. Vehicles going through all over but people still drive on these lakes for whatever dumb reason (lazy). 4 wheelers also have been going through. On this particular lake I drug my portable clam loaded full of fishing gear and auger 1/2 mile. The house weighs 100lbs by Itself so I'm guessing I was pushing the 250lb mark on the drag with everything else added. Actually It didn't go to bad being the lake hardly has any snow on It. My daughter didn't go with but she wanted In on the picture. She's been begging me to take her but I'm a chicken In doing so. So many reports of a foot In one spot and 3 Inches of Ice In the next spot. On the drag out I could see spots where It was maybe 6 Inches and others around a foot. Ice Is clear so It's fairly easy to see. Piles and piles of white pockets In the Ice though. Just a bad year plain and simple with Ice this year. They sure tasted good though. We ate some up last night and this morning.

Man that looks good! :L:

I haven't been out icefishing for quite some time. I used to go alot but now I am addicted to scouting.

Need to take a break and get out there at least few times this year.

That's a pretty good mess of fish for a days fishing by yourself. Good job.

Looks good I'll be right over. ;)
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
