That is cool, I like the rubs in the background. Get some deer scouting in on your coyote hunts!!

As I have never really predator hunted, how do they use the land? I’ve had a few come by while now hunting but could never get any shots off.

Getting a leg up on a predator that’s already trying to get a leg up on prey, much like mature buck hunting and many tactics talked about on here. A lot of it comes down to woodsmanship. Unlike a mature buck, a predator is almost always using the wind to its advantage.

Went out with hounds today

Only one kill, it was -28 this morning so we waited it to warm up a little. Had another real good chase but ran out of daylight. Seen a pretty nice buck today. 1st buck I’ve seen since 11-18-18. He was working out of his bedding area.

4 kills in last 2 days. The biggest bonus is the wolves have moved out of our hunting area. They do not like being bothered and pressured by the commotion From the hounds. This is a major relief on the local deer and turkeys.
Hoping for 3 kills tomorrow.

Calling can be done anytime. Trick is getting close to them, similar to big buck hunting

Ah man, glad to see you getting after them dogs! Congrats on the kills! I'd be out there this time of year back in Pa, but decided to take a little vacation to Kandahar. Been seeing a bunch of jackals over here making me wish I back home with my 22-250!
