what predator call works best for you?

Unread postby ramblinman » Tue Dec 07, 2010 3:28 am

haven't hunted coyotes for several years, but i am thinking of doing some this winter. I am moving to The lake of the woods or should I say within 15 miles of there. Winters might get alittle long up there and if work is slow, misewell be hunting. Has anyone hunted them up in northern Mn? Are you able to use electronis calls? I'm curious what has worked for you best when in the field calling? Thanks

I have a primos powerdogg and it has worked good for me. It is wireless which is nice, compact, and has all the sounds you need on it. Also pretty decent price.

Page 22 makes it appear to me that the use of electronic calls are legal in MN for Coytoes. For me I use the Foxpro Fury Electronic call and have had alot of success with the "Pup in distress" as well as "Squealing Rabbit" are the two that have done the trick for me. ;)

iv used the johnny stewart calls..i first purchased the call with the wire that connect the speaker to the remote..waste of money in my opinion..when it gets cold the wire gets cold and breaks easily and is a pain to put out..i returned it and bought the johnny stewart wireless call and that i can say i like..although its pricey..it sounds extremely real and whats nice is you can buy differnt chips with different sounds to put into the remote..so you can have 12 different kinds of sounds all in one remote..

I will have to look at what its called but my Coyote call was only like $30 bucks or so... Bought at walmart. It has a remote, and has called in plenty of yotes and foxes.
