Illegal to shoot Coyotes in WI gun season?

Correct me if I am wrong but I recently heard that this year it is illegal to shoot a coyote during the wisconsin gun season. I heard it was to try to stop people from shooting wolves. Is this true? Last year I missed a coyote while gun hunting and if the opportunity arose I would like to shoot at one if it is legal.

Unless the law changed this year it has always been north of HWY 8 that coyotes are off limits during the firearms seasons.
