Tonights hunt-pic's added
About a 1/2 hour before dark I heard what sounded like a squirrel getting murdered. 15 minutes later I heard something running at me from that direction. I turned to see it was a coyote. Awesome looking female with very little grey and a lot of white... I drew back and waited for a shot. She went behind a tree then as she came around the other side she looked up at me and I took the shot. I was using a lumenock and as the arrow left my bow you could see the yotes eyes widen as it ducked, right under the arrow...
As the arrow passed an inch over her head, she swiveled at the neck watching the red light... Then she stuck her neck way out and smelled the arrow and launched herself into the air and sprinted up over the ridge out of sight...
So, I hung up my bow and settled back down looking at the bright annoying light from the lumenock thinking it will spook everything that comes near. When all the sudden, I hear running again and look up to see another coyote heading my way. He got real spooky when he saw the lighted knock but kept coming now at a walk. I drew my bow at 50 yards figuring he was on pins and needles. At forty he turned to leave and I took about a 45 yard shot and this arrow had no lumenoc but the shot looked good in the low light and the yote did a bark when the arrow hit it and bolted into heavy brush along the swamp edge where it sounded like the arrow was hitting brush. Then I couldnt hear him walking anymore like he stopped, and I could hear heavy breathing...
I am going in tomorrow morning to look for him.

I went out this morning and there was a heavy blood trail... He got into the swamp muck and I found him where I heard him breathing heavy.

Re: Tonights hunt
Hopefully we will have pics of the yote tomorrow.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

He must of spun on the shot, cause the arrow entered the shoulder, and exited the throat taking out the main artery.
