Hey guys, I am going to do some predator hunting with my bow. I was wondering what you use for broadheads. I personally was thinking about getting a buckblaster or similar. 3 fixed blade and 3 mechanical blades, total 6, with a cutting diameter of 2 3/4". Probably overkill, but with the packs here pushing 25 animals. Not really something I plan on screwing around with. I currently have a set of NAP hellrazors. I will post the pic of the tracks we saw out when we were trying to set up a tree stand. There were 7 sets of tracks on the road, with 2 sets of them the size of my hand. Heard them howling, we were down wind, they could hear us but not smell us. Estimate they were 5 mins ahead of us, and turned off a different track when we came in. I know there is 3 packs there in about a 30 mile radius. One pack was estimated 20-30, and another 15-20, plus this one. Oh and right now in that area I have no bag limit.

Re: what broadhead for wolves
If it were me, I would choose a fixed broadhead just like I do for deer. Despite the pack size your only shooting one at a time. My old dependable would be on the end of the arrow.

Re: what broadhead for wolves
I would try a heat seeking broadhead for wolves, every time I see one they are constantly moving.
Like Dan sais a good fixed should get the job done.

Rage. "it's like throwing an axe through an animal" LOL ....just a regular head you use for deer, unless you can find the explosive tips like Rambo used.

Jumbo expandable. Grim Reaper WS or Shwacker would be my choice. As headgear noted, wolves are always moving so I'd want a bigger cut in the event of marginal hit...and a good side arm.

Re: what broadhead for wolves
yeah my major concern is the movement aspect, and a marginal hit as a result. Hence looking for something that will open up a suez canal sized wound channel. I will look at schwacker and rage....I was looking at the F-15 the other day but it looks....umm..flimsy and not much bigger then the hellrazors.
