Homemade coyote decoys?
Does anyone have any good ideas for decoys? I thought about just taking a clothes hanger and tying some feathers from walmart on it? Show some of your ideas.

I have always heard that a small wad of feathers dangling from a string will get their attention, especially bobcats. I don't know how close it will bring them in tho. Make the feathers light enough the wind will move them.

Just one more thing to lug in that I'm not convinced NEEDS to be there.

For coyote hunting I don't think a guy needs a decoy

A single feather on a string will save you big time. It will save you from being busted especially if you use hand calls. I think most guys would be shocked at how many times they have been busted and don't know it when they call in a coyote that they never see because the coyote saw them first when the were calling. Put a feather 15 yards or so away from you and that slight movement from the feather may give you a chance to see a coyote before they see you. You don't need a decoy shaking around to draw them in, something little to get their attention to allow you to see them before they see you.

Oh that kind of decoy, I thought you were talking about a coyote or rabbit decoy. I agree on a single feather on a string or something similar like that would help. It would've kept me from being busted 2 weeks ago.

Yeah that kind of decoy! Not a live looking animal. Sorry I should've made myself a little more clearer
I was just looking for something to keep the "eyes" off me. I'll try that then...
