I carried, all of my career. Most carriers today, don't train, and don't engage. With all the mass shootings today, you can't tell me, there are those that were not carrying, however they did not engage.
From real world experience, You Will Perform, As You Train..... You better be ready, because once you pull the trigger, your life will change.
I am not saying, you should not protect your life, but be ready....
At 74, if you pull a gun on me, you better pull the trigger, or I will rip your throat out in short order.
I think ccw is a good thing. I think training is poor.
Killing another man, is not easy. So remember the responsibility you bear, while you carry.
My beliefs come from real world experience,
So be trained, be ready, and be responsible
I must say I mostly agree. I do concealed carry, and I think everybody that wishes to should do so. I also feel that anyone who takes on the responsibility of carrying a firearm, should also feel compelled to train to be proficient using their firearm in high stress situations. I was not military, but had spend several years regularly doing some pretty extensive firearm training that included alot of tactical training, active shooter, force om force, CQB, etc, all taught by marsoc, seals, delta, rangers, & green berets. Not only that, but I also have been training brazilian jiu jitsu extensively for years. With all of that training I feel like I have all bases covered if dealing with a person who may intend any harm from any reasonable distance. But, that's not the only reason I carry. We have mountain lions, coyotes, and black bears, which aren't normally a problem, but it only takes once...
Yea, I believe it's everybody's right to carry, but if you do carry and aren't trained to use it effectively in they types of situations you carry for... you're probably more of a detriment than a help.

Otherwise, deer in the northwoods seem pretty tolerant of everything else in the woods.
